PDE constrained optimal control problems with pointwise state constraints are known to cause certain theoretical and numerical difficulties. In this talk, we are concerned with an elliptic Dirichlet boundary control problem with low regularity of the state variable. After discussing first order optimality conditions in KKT-form, we will focus on presenting a priori error estimates for the finite element discretization of such linear-quadratic problems with pointwise state constraints in the interior of the domain. Numerical experiments will be provided.
