Model predictive control of flows

We exploit ideas from model predictive control to construct nonlinear distributed and boundary controllers for flow governed by the instationary Navier Stokes equations or the Boussinesq approximation. We numerically test the performance of the controllers considering as example control of the wake of the circular cylinder in the laminar flow regime, and thermally driven flow in a cavity.
