Computational Methods for the Maxwell Eigenvalue Problem at Optical Frequencies

This talk is about the advancement of grid-based simulation algorithms for modelling electromagnetic wave propagation in photonics. For this purpose, existing algorithms for problems arising from the microwave range are extended for the analysis and the design of linear passive nanostructures at optical frequencies. The focus is put on the calculation of resonances and eigenwaves of the nanostructures.
